FOSTERING

Fostering is a wonderful and rewarding experience. It's also not for everyone. Every dog that comes into our foster homes becomes a part of that family until they get adopted. When they leave, they take a part of our hearts with them. But it's a good thing because we helped that dog get his/her very own family! When a dog gets adopted then we can go and save another dog on death row who doesn't have a home or family. The dogs that come into our rescue also usually have various issues that need worked with prior to leaving for their new homes. Most often these issues are a result of abuse, neglect, or both. These dogs can and do learn to be nice dogs and get over their issues but it takes a strong person to work with these dogs. But in the end the reward is great as we see the transformation these dogs undergo and the smiling faces of their new families.

Meet BOGART

Adopted 12/11/12

Bogart found himself with our local Animal Control and had only days to find a rescue before being put to sleep. Thanks to people on Facebook advertising his need for help Mini Mutts was contacted, a foster home found, and we were able to save him. As you can see, he needs to put on some weight. As neglected as he was he is a very loving and calm little guy. We've already gotten a couple inquiries on him so soon he'll have his very own forever family. Without his foster family he wouldn't be alive today!

Bogart DID get adopted and you can see him with his new mommy on the Adoptive Homes page.

Meet Vega and Maverick

Adopted!

Tiny little Vega and Maverick came to us because they were so scared in the pound they would bite viciously whenever someone approached them. We were contacted knowing we work with these kinds of little dogs with a very high success rate of rehabilitating and rehoming them. When Vega and Maverick arrived we had to wear leather gloves to pick the up to protect us from their tiny teeth. It took a week for them to learn to trust us and as you can see in this picture they turned into very loving little dogs! They both got adopted together which makes this story even sweeter.

Meet Spunky

Adopted!

Spunky is named appropriately as he is full of energy and can be quite destructive when bored or left alone. Despite these issues he found a wonderful home who loved him no matter what. Spunky is a true rescue success story!
